Note to Judges
CASEF strives to support independent, original student research. Judges are vital to the success of this endeavor.
Judging involves previewing student projects and in-person interviews with students at their projects.
CASEF JUDGING IS AN IN-PERSON EVENT @ MESSIAH UNIVERSITY
Judging Day is Tuesday March 11
8:30am and concluding by 2:00pm
Morning coffee and lunch will be provided.
Please complete the Judges Registration in StemWizard.
Category Judge
Judges will be assigned projects to review and score. The assignments will be made the week before the fair and the material will be available for review in StemWizard at that time.
In-person interviews will be on Tuesday and is an essential part of the CASEF experience. Hard copy score sheets should be completed after the in-person interview and need to be submitted by 2 pm on Judging Day.
Students will be submitting PDF files of their research project as well as presenting a short slide presentation for the judges to review prior to judging day. There will not be a video available. We need to be compliant with Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and individual school district polices.
Special Awards Judge
Special award judges will be offered a listing of projects that meet specific categories and subcategories.
Special award judges are encouraged to visit the displays and interview the presenters in-person during the scheduled interview window on Tuesday. Projects will be on display Tuesday and Wednesday for review.
Each special award will be assigned one judging window in StemWizard that can be shared by all members of the committee for pre-fair review.
Award recipient selection need to be submitted by noon on Wednesday. Please plan to have the awards to us in time for the award ceremony on Thursday.
